Focus Just as there are only 7 symmetry patterns with which to create a frieze, there are only 17 symmetry patterns with which the plane may be covered. Kali provides an interactive environment in which these concepts may be explored.

Tasks

1. Using Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer, open Java Kali.

2. Read the instructions for using Java Kali.

3. Run the program.

4. Create a design based on each of the 7 frieze symmetry patterns

5. Create a design based on each of the 17 wallpaper symmetry patterns.
